Compare Evaporative Cooling with Air Conditioning
Evaporative cooling units feature advanced technology and a range of unique and clever design features that combine to achieve the highest cooling performance, and the lowest water use, of any similar cooler. Traditional refrigeration based air conditioning does have its place, but in many cases evaporative cooling will do a better job at a lower cost
Ventilation, without cooling, is also sometimes used in an attempt to control temperatures in large commercial and industrial spaces. While this can be a low cost option, and will improve the environment by bringing oxygen into the space, it cannot reduce the temperature to below the outside temperature, and is not significantly cheaper than evaporative cooling to install or operate.
The chart below, air cooler vs air con, compares evaporative cooling with other air-cooling processes, based on a typical factory space.
